I hope y’all are having a good week. The Segundos want to start writing a short letter every once in a while to keep y’all informed of what’s going on, including the search for a preacher.

First, I want to mention our Easter Eggstravaganza and Cleanup day that are coming up in the next few weeks. This Saturday, April 1st, starting at 9am we will meet on the church grounds to start the clean up day. We have several things we want to get done to prepare for Easter. The church will provide lunch for all volunteers who come to help. On April 15th we will have our annual Easter Eggstravaganza followed by the LSCC Jackpot. We need many volunteers to help make this event happen so please be sure to sign up.

We are also very excited to announce that we have signed a contract with Chute 2 Productions to hold an annual bull riding event in our LSCC arena. It will be a sanctioned event that people from all over will come to see. It is scheduled for August 19th as part of our annual Founders Day. We are very excited about this opportunity and hope it will grow into a large community event over the next few years. More details will follow as we continue planning for Founders Day.

We have been working hard to find a cowboy preacher and we have interviewed two potential candidates. One has declined the position and the other is thinking on it. Additionally, we have 3 other candidates that we will be reaching out to in the next few weeks. We will continue to update y’all on our search and will bring potential prospects in front of the church when we find someone.

There is a lot going on and I am sure questions will come up. Please find one of the Segundos (Ben, Kelly or myself) or a Point Rider (Barry, Lee and Mike), and we would be happy talk to you.

God has great plans for LSCC and I hope y’all are as excited about the future as I am. We may not be able to see what is down the road but we can look at where we have been and God has grown LSCC into a great place, full of friendly and genuine people. Keep praying for LSCC and for the leaders, that we might follow His will and make our church everything He wants it to be.

For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
